* Note: Decomposed granite is a DPW-approved material for use at required paths other than the required 4' sidewalk which must be made of concrete. (ie. decomposed granite may be used at parking courtesy strip, access to autos, access to phone poles, etc.) Contact DPW at phone number above with any questions. Decomposed granite is a compacted, durable, walkable and permeable surface made of very fine particles of stone. If you are unfamiliar with this material, you may view it at Crissy Field in San Francisco where it is used as the walking/jogging/bicycling/ADA accessible path from the beach area to the Warming Hut.
